CIS provided a pair of S-150 hammers to assist in the installation of a replacement oil loading and offloading terminal in 90 feet of water offshore Grand Bahama. The ground contained difficult-to-drill hard horizons intermingled with grout swallowing voids, and the installation work needed finishing before the rapidly approaching hurricane season. The project, which was conducted from a derrick barge, included the installation of four 54" pile sleeves which had to be driven to a pre-determined depth through the four legs of the new platform. Forty-eight inch piles were then drilled in place through the 54" piles. Grout was pumped into the annulus between the 48" piles and the pile sleeves in order to provide support for the structure.
